Welcome to our Open House Website!
Our Spring 2020 Open House is Cancelled (Details below)
You can still support student scholarships this Spring and donate to our Crowdfunding Campaign and online auction - more information coming soon!
Unfortunately in light of growing concern over the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we have cancelled our Spring 2020 Open House. The health of our volunteer students, staff, and faculty, as well as our public visitors is our number one priority. We hope you can join us in Fall 2020 when we plan to reschedule our Open House for insight into life at the marine station and get an interactive peek at what each lab is working on during this two-day event! This special occasion is a family favorite with educational attractions and activities geared for all ages, yummy food and student-designed merchandise.
In hopes to still raise money for student scholarships this Spring, we have set up a crowdfunding campaign and are launching an online auction. Keep an eye out for more information to come! In the meantime, we hope you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe during these difficult times. For more information on the outbreak and what you can do to protect yourself and others, please visit the Centers for Disease Control website.
To learn more about the history of MLML's Open House check-out the 50th Anniversary Blog from 2017:
Since the inception of MLML, the students, faculty, and staff have sponsored an Open House. On 29 April 1967, one day after the dedication of Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, 500 people showed up for the first MLML Open House. We have doing it every year since, no matter whether we had a real marine lab (the trailer years) or not. It is one of the great annual MLML traditions.
