R/V John H. Martin - Scientific Equipment

R/V John H. Martin routinely transports scientists out for day trips in the surrounding Monterey Bay area working as far north as San Francisco. There is ample deck space for CTD deployments/recoveries and gear stowage/work space as seen below in deck photos.

The Underway Data Acquisition System (UDAS) logs and displays data for temperature, conductivity (SeaBird Thermosalinograph) turbidity, and fluorometry (Seabird) in real-time. The John H. Martin is also equipped a Teledyne Workhorse acoustic doppler current profiler, Simrad EK 60 Echo Sounder (38 KHz, 120 KHz, and 200 KHz), and NEMA 2000 and 183 networks.
