I joined the Vertebrate Ecology Lab as an volunteer in Fall 2019. As part of the lab I am learning Matlab techniques and am gaining hands on experience analyzing heart rate data for an ongoing research project on northern elephant seal diving physiology. The experience I am gaining will assist my future interests in the biological field.

Currently, I am a biology student currently attending Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA, seeking a BS in ecology and environmental science.  I have interests in ornithology as well as a general appreciation for the field of ecology. Previously, I have gained fieldwork experience working as a field technician with both marine and avian species. In addition, I also was lab assistant for the Elkhorn Slough Reserve restoring and monitoring plant colonies.
