Location: Monterey, near Monterey Bay Aquarium

Sex: Male

Length: 115 cm

Human Interaction: Bungee cord entanglement around the neck

Stranding response: Staff from the Monterey Bay Aquarium found this animal floating just in front of the aquarium and towed it to shore.  Graduate students from the MLML Stranding Network then responded and recovered the carcass for necropsy. Results are still pending but cause of death is likely related to the entanglement around the neck.
