Background: B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Spanish from the University of New Mexico, 2013

I began my first year at Moss Landing this past summer with a research trip to Indonesia, where I helped retrieve and process Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures (ARMS). http://www.pifsc.noaa.gov/cred/arms.php. This is part of a collaborative effort between multiple universities, both in the U.S. and Indonesia, and the Smithsonian Institution to document biodiversity in the Coral Triangle. The Coral Triangle is the epicenter of marine biodiversity, and my thesis research (to be determined!) will be conducted within the Indonesian archipelago. I am interested in the ecology of foundation species, such as coral, as well as phase-shifts and invasive species.
