James L. Williamson
James graduated from the University of Miami (FL) in 2013 with a B.S. after double majoring in Marine Science and Biology and minoring in Chemistry. After graduation, he began work in the Chemical Oceanography Lab at Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) as a research technician aboard the NOAA ship R/V Ronald Brown conducting deep water sampling in the north Atlantic. In early 2014, James began work as an observer for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), collecting catch data aboard commercial fishing vessels all over New England.
James joined the Fisheries and Conservation Biology Lab at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories in the fall of 2015 to pursue his interests in fisheries, and quickly became initiated through the California Collaborative Fisheries Research Program (CCFRP). For future research, he is interested in marine fish ecology, particularly their nearshore distribution and movements.
