Briana C. Brady (2008)
Long-term changes in biological characteristics and fishery of Loligo opalescens
Briana’s master’s thesis focused on the commercial market squid fishery and long-term trends in biological characteristics of the species; and Briana worked with Rick Starr, Greg Cailliet, and Jim Harvey at MLML, in addition to Dale Sweetnam with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, to complete her thesis.
Currently, Briana is a Senior Environmental Scientist Supervisor with the Department. Briana supervises the Coastal Pelagic Species Project, which manages fisheries for market squid, sardine, anchovy, and mackerel. In 2016, Briana was appointed as a designee for the Department to the Pacific Fishery Management Council.
