Toward an inclusive vision and mission statement
In April 2021 the committee convened to update the MLML-wide mission and vision statements, to be more inclusive and to more explicitly state a commitment to attracting and supporting diversity. Below are the products of the committee's efforts.
MLML-wide Vision Statement
A thriving institution of education and researchers working to advance marine science by fostering an inclusive and diverse community, serving society, and transforming public discourse and policy towards sustainable human interaction with the world.
MLML-wide Mission Statement
Empower a diverse community of marine science leaders by providing unparalleled and equitable access to the education, environment, and tools necessary to understand marine and coastal processes—creating new understanding and solutions in a changing world.
