Marco provides expertise at MPSL-MLML in study design, field sampling, project logistics and coordination, GIS mapping, and database management with an emphasis on habitat and taxonomy data.\u00a0 He graduated from the University of California San Diego in 1997 with a B.S. in Biology and with a Master's degree in Marine and Estuarine Sciences from the University of Maryland in 2000. His research focused on estuarine benthic communities and larval recruitment.<\/p>\n

Stacey Swenson has 27 years of experience in the quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) of environmental data, which includes extracting and analyzing data in an EPA Superfund lab, and then later in her career, interpreting and validating data while working at a 3rd party data validation consulting firm.\u00a0 She has incorporated these QA\/QC skills (e.g., analytical chemistry analyses, verification, validation, report writing, and environmental QC protocols) to the database management QA program.\u00a0 She developed both the data verification and validation processes that are currently in use for the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP) including the processes that are used for SWAMP\u2019s Bioaccumulation Oversight Group (BOG) data to determine fish advisories for human health for the state.\u00a0 She is the project manager for the MPSL-MLML Regional Data Center including the data vocabulary review lead ensuring comparability between various entities providing environmental data sets to the California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN).<\/p>\n

George is currently a project assistant for MPSL-MLML. George received his A.A. Degree in Computer Information Systems - Systems Programming in 1994 from De Anza College in Cupertino, CA. He also received an A.S. Degree in Marine Science and Technology in 2004 from Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, CA. Prior to joining MPSL-MLML, he worked for 18 years in the software technical support industry. One of his crowning achievements is a marine technician internship aboard the Research Vessel Seward Johnson in the Sargasso Sea.<\/p>\n

Will Hagan has over two decades of experience in environmental science. He began his career as a chemist specializing in the analysis and speciation of ultra-trace metals in a variety of environmental matrices. He then transitioned into quality management in the private sector before joining the Marine Pollution Studies Laboratory in 2005. Will has partnered with the State Water Resources Control Board (Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program, California Integrated Water Quality System), the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (Office of Water, Office of Spill Prevention and Response), several Regional Water Quality Control Boards, the CALFED Bay-Delta Program, and numerous other public, private, and non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
