Welcome to the joint library of Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (MLML) and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI). The MLML\/MBARI Research Library supports the needs of faculty, researchers, engineers, staff and students at\u00a0both institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The MLML\/MBARI Research Library collections are concentrated in fisheries, marine birds and mammals, invertebrate zoology, oceanography, ecology, molecular biology, biogeochemistry, toxicology, marine geology, marine chemistry, and deep-sea biology. The Library also holds resources in support of mechanical, electrical and software engineering and scientific instrumentation.<\/p>\n

Moss Landing Marine Laboratories is administered by San Jos\u00e9 State University and is part of the California State University System. (Read more about MLML<\/a>.) The MLML\/MBARI Research Library works collaboratively with the King Library at SJSU<\/a>. MLML and MBARI students, faculty, researchers, and staff have access to over 29 million books at 22 libraries via CSU+ loan<\/a>\u00a0and through their home institution libraries.<\/p>\n

The MBARI Library and the MLML Library merged in 1997. This private-public partnership integrates access to information, avoids duplication, and leverages each institution's resources through collaborative purchases. And, perhaps most importantly, provides opportunities for collaboration and community through shared information resources in the study of marine science and engineering. The Library is a member of the International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers<\/a>.
