The term \u201cdeep-marine\u201d is used to describe bathyal sedimentary environments which occur at water depths greater than 200 m, extending from the continental shelf towards the abyssal zone (Zezina 1997). Marine sedimentary particles may be sourced from terrestrial environments, hard and remnants of organisms, chemical processes in seawater, and even from material outside of Earth. This atlas will introduce sediments retrieved from various coring sites in a subequatorial region of the western Pacific Ocean northeast of Papua New Guinea.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr
