\"\"Corina graduated from the\u00a0University of California, San Diego<\/a>\u00a0in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in\u00a0Environmental Systems\u00a0with an emphasis in Ecology, Behavior, & Environmental Policy. After graduating, Corina worked primarily at sea as a marine technician for the\u00a0Scripps Institution of Oceanography<\/a>\u00a0Physical Oceanography Research Division. During this time, she worked on trans-Pacific voyages collecting high density temperature measurements and\u00a0sea water samples for climatological research and the\u00a0Global Ocean Observing System<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n

Both Corina's passion for conducting science relevant to marine resource management and her desire to learn more about geographic information systems (GIS) brought her to\u00a0California State\u00a0University,\u00a0Monterey Bay<\/a>\u00a0in pursuit of a master's degree. Here, she worked on the\u00a0California Seafloor Mapping Project<\/a>\u00a0and with the\u00a0Center for Ocean Solutions<\/a>\u00a0studying the relationship between ecosystem indicators and cumulative human impacts along the central California coast. Corina graduated with an\u00a0M.Sc. in\u00a0Coastal Policy and Science in 2012.<\/p>\n

Corina worked as a technician with the Fisheries and Conservation Biology Lab<\/a>. Her work included collaborative research on the status of Rockfish Conservation Areas<\/a> in California. She also monitored MPAs with CCFRP<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Reef Check CA<\/a>, and studied the distribution and habitat associations of overfished species.<\/p>\n
