Chiu<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1142\" style=\"text-align: center\" src=\"https:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/fisheries\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2017\/10\/IMG_6821-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/fisheries\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2017\/10\/IMG_6821-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/fisheries\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2017\/10\/IMG_6821-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/fisheries\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2017\/10\/IMG_6821-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/fisheries\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2017\/10\/IMG_6821.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/fisheries\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2019\/01\/ChiuJ.A._Thesis.pdf\">Diets and stable isotope signatures of Yellowtail rockfish (Sebastes flavidus) in Central California<\/a><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justified\">Jennifer graduated from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucsb.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of California, Santa Barbara<\/a>\u00a0in 2011 with a B.S. in Ecology &amp; Evolution and a minor in Asian American Studies.\u00a0 During her time at UCSB, she assisted with research focusing on the non-consumptive effects of predators on prey in the intertidal zone, coupled with the effects of climate change and habitat complexity.\u00a0 She also completed a senior research project investigating the burgeoning and unregulated Kellet\u2019s Whelk fishery along the California coast. \u00a0After graduation, Jennifer accepted a Fisheries Ecology Internship at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.disl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dauphin Island Sea Lab<\/a>\u00a0in Alabama, where she participated in numerous projects in the northern Gulf of Mexico (including Tiger Shark gut content research, Bonnethead Shark functional response, Cownose Ray foraging ecology and Red Snapper tagging).\u00a0 Before beginning graduate school, she worked as a biological science technician at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usgs.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USGS<\/a>, where she studied the distribution and biomass of benthic invertebrates in San Francisco Bay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justified\">Jennifer joined the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/fisheries\/\">Fisheries &amp; Conservation Biology Lab<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlml.sjsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MLML<\/a>\u00a0in the fall of 2012.
