Molly graduated from Northeastern University<\/a> in 2020 where she majored in Marine Biology and minored in Environmental Science. During her time at Northeastern, Molly had the opportunity to complete three different semester-long co-ops<\/a>, all centered around different aspects of the marine biological industry.<\/p>\n

For her first co-op, Molly interned at the Bimini Biological Field Station<\/a> (BBFS) where she worked on research projects ranging from juvenile lemon shark personality to movement patterns and residency time of tiger sharks. Molly learned a variety of new research skills, which included acoustic telemetry, gillnetting, longlining, full anatomical workups, and operating small boats. This is where she met fellow lab member, Kinsey! For her second co-op, Molly was the Dive Locker intern at the Cape Eleuthera Island School<\/a> (CEIS). While working in the dive locker, Molly assisted in SCUBA certifying high school students, local Bahamian middle school students, and staff members at the Island School. She also earned her Divemaster certification and logged nearly 100 dives in the beautiful Caribbean waters. For her third co-op, Molly worked at Mote Marine Laboratory as the Marine Experimental Research Facility<\/a> (MERF) intern where she learned about the housing, care, maintenance, and essential life support requirements of elasmobranch fishes. While at Mote, Molly was also able to participate in shark-tagging research cruises and the transportation of large elasmobranchs.<\/p>\n

Molly joined the Fisheries and Conservation Biology<\/a> lab in Fall 2021 and it excited to get involved with the many different research projects at MLML. When not in the lab, Molly enjoys playing any racquet sport, surfing, diving, and baking.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
